Google Maps
Instructional Lens: Imagine a globe that allowed you to zoom into any area on the planet and see real life objects as small as a few feet across. Or enter the name or address of any location and the map would automatically zoom there. Then enter another location and not only find the exact distance between them, but directions to get there via car, bicycle, mass transit or walking! Google Maps allows this and more... including tracking locations and attaching text and images. Every subject has a geographical component. Where does that music come from? Where did that scientist live? How long would it take to walk across the United States? What is the the shortest distance between three locations? How many possibilities can you come up with to use Google Maps? |
